My Thesis Findings:
• Philosophically, tourism is a subjective phenomenon with its socio-economic and environmental overwhelm. Visitors continuously seek to witness unusual, natural and culture events from more and more exotic lands.
• Physically, Nepal disposes excellent circumstances for the relevant development of active international tourism which plays a vital role from micro to macro level in the national economy to socio-economic development. In the dramatic geographical diversified structure and international position, tourism is a vector in the development procedure. Tourism is a versatile tool to achieve poverty alleviation/reduction through resource mobilization and sustainable management.
• Marketing, Nepal is categorized a fascinating, exiting, mystic and exotic venue. It is a dreamland for the mountain lovers, amphitheater for the culture seekers and life-destination for the religion believes. Practically, tourism is a dream industry; it sells dream (fantasy) and in the world of fantasy, sky is the virtual limit. Turning visions into mere missions and its marketing are the prime keys to sheer success in tourism business which is never ending and ever changing.
• Opportunities: Tourism provides income generating employment opportunities, it links remote areas, uplift living standard, integrate auxiliary industries, increase source of foreign exchange earnings, impact in socio-culture and economics, conserve nature and culture heritages, bring environment of ecological biodiversity and so on.
• Sustainable Development: Tourism is the interest of sustainable development. If managed well, envisage a leading role of all resource management that economic, social and aesthetic needs could be fulfilled while maintaining cultural integrity, essential ecological process, biodiversity and life support systems.
• Focused: Nepal is much depended in international tourism, but much affected by its centralism, seasonality and infrastructures. It steers volatility and vulnerability in the industry as well as of the national economy and social status. To stabilize tourism and to achieve perpetual sustainability, the government as well as the interest of the private sector have to bring in high sensitive, work together, apply coordination in order to enhance the tourism industry and the image of Nepal and to market it in an extensive both domestically and internationally to achieve intensive results.
• Recommendations: A genuine, comprehensive and integrated socio-economic based Tourism Plan with the progressive decentralization, resource mobilization, conservation, people’s participation, effective management, political commitments with strong and effective government decrees, acts, rules and regulations and targeted marketing strategies are highly recommended. Caught the sense of tourism, awaken awareness, education, environmental and ecological consciousness are the main software to achieving the quality products and finally to achieve the significant position amongst the total ‘invisible income from invisible export i.e., the Touro-Dollar’ of the country. Therefore, it is mandatory to enhance the (tourism) products and services with global standard and continue with the efforts for transferring the international tourism into highly effective branches amidst the running Nepalese economy.
